据台湾“中时电子报”7月4日报道，大陆游客赴台游客人数持续减少，已严重冲击全台国际观光饭店以外的中小型、中平价位旅馆饭店生计，除原本只为抢热钱而一律只接待大陆团生意的旅馆饭店，因无团可接而欲抛售以断尾求生外，一些不欲见投资付诸流水的业者，为拉抬因陆客减少而滑落的住房率，开始杀价抢攻港澳新马与日韩客源市场，市场行情已大乱。
报道指，台北西门町一带旅馆饭店原本因客源打击面较大，故受陆客减少影响较小，眼见进入暑假的住房率后市欲振乏力，业者亦开始杀价抢客，掀起割喉浴血战。
除了派专人天天查价、比价，并以浮动报价让房间“卖得动”，台北花园酒店并锁定岛内市场，以3人房强力攻坚。德立庄与西片町捷丝旅则是与华航、国泰与港龙航空公司，以及香港或航空不同国家旅行社合作，设计更多元自由行套装开拓客源，amba西门町意舍酒店则派专人赴海外进行业务拜访拓商机，同时计划明年为饭店装修，并增加更多休闲娱乐设施，强化饭店竞争力。

Although the hotel is somewhat remote from the historic center (and thus some of the main sightseeing attractions) it is rather easy to get there by bus as there are at least 2 bus stations nearby. Several small supermarkets/stores in the immediate vicinity might be an additional plus. My bedroom looked outworn but it was still OK, whereas the bathroom might need a refurbishment. Staff are rather friendly, however I didn`t bother them that much anyway. All in all it is definetely alright for a short stay of one or two nights, in particular with regard to the price you pay.
